    For those who are interested, follow how the (white) sheriff of Genesee Co. (Flint) Michigan handled it. Note the absence of damage, arrests and injuries. For those not in the know, Flint is a rough town.

    I agree... the results would be different if the objective was stated and that was that. The police are effectively working with restraints and simply not allowed to do much of anything. The NG troops are being called in for their numbers. I think the city leaders believe hundreds of LE figures directing traffic might dissuade some of the rioters... to be fair, it might.

    My fear is that officers being muzzled standing around an active riot are basically targets.

    Local Police out here used to ask for help from citizens. One Officer supervises 3 to 6 citizens.
