I carried a G30 for 8 years. It was like a brick and I hated it. So I switched to a PM9 made by Kahr. I love it because of the fact I can wear shorts, jeans or slacks and no one knows the difference. I purchased a G34 last week. I love shooting it and only plan to make some minor modifications. Until my cross breed holster comes in I have been wearing it "Mexican" style(just tucked into the waist of my jeans). (I know the term might not be PC but it is the only term I know for this type of carry) So now I wonder why I have not carried a full size before this? It doesn't print(true, all guns print a bit but you can hardly tell on this). It sits low and it far from uncomfortable. I think it is great and wonder what everyone else thinks about carrying a full size rig.

    Nope.

Its going to fall out sooner or later...

Not to mention issues with carrying with one in the pipe.

Much like you, I went from a mid-sized Glock to a PM9. I love my PM9 and I still love the Glock, but for carry comfort there is no comparison.

My Crossbreed took 2 weeks, which was much less than they estimated. I'd just wait for the Crossbreed. The Crossbreed is comfortable. So is an extremely thin Kydex IWB like a Grandfather Oak or JSholsters.

Forget Mexican carry. The closest thing that is safer is using a clip (you can order it from Lone Wolf, I think). If you do that:

DO NOT KEEP A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER.

DO NOT KEEP A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER

DO NOT KEEP A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER

Stand facing someone with your mexican carry piece shoved in your pants. Let that someone grab your pants by the belt and pull. You will notice that your piece will fall to your ankles.

This is how Plaxico Burress shot himself - mexican carry.

You two need to work on your reading comprehension. He says he's waiting for his holster to come in.

Carry the biggest gun you can safely carry and shoot well.

Carrying a full size gun...IMHO it is a good thing

Carrying without a holster...IMHO it is a bad thing

Yeah, I totally understand about it falling down. It is a risk and one I only take in extreme situations.

I just wonder why I have never considered going to a full sized for a carry rig before now. I could have been carrying a G21 instead of the G30. I have to say, I feel allot better with a full size rig than a compact. There are so many advantages that my PM9 might go back in the safe for a long time.

I could not agree more CJ.

Not to mention...full framed guns fit my hands MUCH better than any smaller ones. I have little pocket pistol for a backup to a larger one, but it is never my primary carry piece.

    I'm an Average Joe, 5'11'' 210. I easilt conceal my G21 in a MTAC.
Shorts, t-shirt in Miami, carried it all day Saturday, no printing unless I do a cartwheel.

**And that MTAC is the Slide,.......loosen the retention screws one turn,
and it's fine for the G21. I tighten them back up to carry the G19,.......works for me!

For the past 2 days I have been wearing my G20 in my newly-acquired MTAC holster. Wow, what a comfortable way to carry a monster of a gun! The holster does a good job of hiding it, too. I caught myself actually thinking of making the G20 to replace my G23 as my EDC gun.

No problems here with full size Glock's, G17 or G21 sometimes and no problems, 1911's Commander size! wich is close to the G17 size.

Just for comparison, why the MTAC instead of the cross breed?

I'm 5'11" 190lbs and conceal mid-full sized pistols rather easily by going OWB with a good leather belt/holster rig and usually jeans/cargos and one size over T-Shirt...wear it all day until bedtime everyday. I would not carry w/o a holster, the weapon would not be secure enough IMHO without a holster. .02

In my experience most people who start carrying a full size gun quickly stop carrying a fullsize gun. They are too big/heavy/hard to conceal for most people. It may be great as you walk around your house, but when you try to carry it for 10-12 hours it gets a to be a bit much.

I am so offended by this post!!!

I prefer to be referred to as "Legally Challenged Immigrant Carry".

See to it that you do not mess this up again!!!
    :tongueout:

My question to you is: Are you saying that you prefer to carry a gun IWB without a holster? Or are you saying that you don't mind carrying a full size gun like the G34 with a holster IWB?

Personally, the LCIC style carry (I know you can laugh) isn't a "Horrible" choice. It's not the most preferred or safest mode of carry. If you were planning on doing this for good, I would at least recommend a "Clip Draw" and not carry with one in the pipe.

Now, now...Everyone put down the flame throwers. I'm merely pointing out (If I'm reading the OP correctly) that he seems to carry more comfortably IWB without a holster. So I figured to put out a little info for him/her.
