    Hi Eric,

I told the John M. Petkovsek (snorko) by email that I was interested in the whole package for $140, pending his verification of the condition of the grips. He agreed.

John then sold it to another buyer for more money, before he verified the condition of the grips with me. See our complete email conversation below, start to finish.

I believe that this is not how The Want Ads are supposed to work.

Since John said that he didn't want to hear from me anymore, I am contacting you.

I feel that I may have been cheated, but since he never verified whether the grips were worn or not, I don't know. I specifically asked him about it, and he got very defensive.

Is there anything more that could or should be done?

I realize that you don't have a lot of extra time to be refereeing disputes from The Want Ads, but I wanted to know your opinion of what I should do.

    Thank you.

    Guy Peterson (xotech)

You may think that, but you are incorrect. You asked me several
questions. I answered them including describing the condition of the
grips. You were not satisfied, did not make an offer, and asked for
    proof of condition.

In the mean time, someone made an offer based on the thorough
description. You had not made an offer, and now you are whining
    because someone else bought them.

It is unreasonable to expect someone not to sell an item just because
    someone else asks a question.

If the grips were worn, I would have said so. The fact that your
first thought is that I was trying to pass of poor condition items
speaks more to your character than mine.

Further communication from you is not welcome.

Not Eric, but it sounds like while you were working things out he sold it. If you aren't out any cash, just consider it reason to not do business with this guy in the future. Some sellers are like that, some aren't.

Okay, thanks for taking the time to go through and read it all.

He seemed like a nice guy until he sold it to someone else for an extra $10.
