Whenever I try and change to higher screen resolutions in Win XP it ends up so I can't see everything on the screen.

I'm struggling to try and describe what it actually does. At 1024x768 I can see the whole screen fine but I know my monitor is capable of going up to 1680x1050. If I go any higher I can only see the icons that were in the upper left hand corner of the screen. The taskbar and start menu is way down outside the view of the borders of the monitor.

Anybody who knows what I'm talking about know how to fix this so I can get higher resolutions?

If you post the brand of video card, vintage of driver used with it, brand of monitor and type of machine (lap/desktop) it will be easier to diagnose the issue.

What it's doing is setting that resolution, but only providing a 1024x768 window to view it, and scrolling the rest.

Update the video driver, and the monitor driver, that should do it.

What video card and monitor do you have?
