Favored fighter v. Underdog - Winner Round Method

    Methods: Sub-submission, TKO-Referee stoppage, KO-Knockout, Doc-Doctor stoppage, UD-Unanimous Decision, SD-split decision, MD-majority decision

    * indicates Open-Weight Grand Prix tournament match

    Results and comments where necessary:

Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos v. Yousuke Nishijima - Cyborg 1RD Sub
This is one of those fights were you have to wonder, "didn't they know this would happen?" Complete and expected domination.

    * Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic v. "The Axe Murderer" Wanderlei Silva - Cro Cop 1RD KO
WOW!! Silva got knocked completely out! He started to bum rush and caught Mirko's patented left high kick in the side of the head. It hit him so hard, not only did Silva go to sleep for the first time in his career, but it actually broke the skin on the side of the head. Cro Cop unexpectedly completely DOMINATED him from start to finish.

    * Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Noguiera v. Josh Barnett - Barnett 3RD SD
This was a war. Once again Nog is hurt by the fact that although his boxing is incredible, he has no power in any of his punches. If he had any heat on those punches, Barnett would have easily lost.

Sergei Kharitonov v. Aleksander Emelianenko - Aleks 1RD TKO
This wasn't that great a fight, but it was ok. The stoppage was pretty late though.

Ricardo "The Mutant" Morais v. Lee Tae-Hyun - Morais 1RD Sub(?)
Feh. LTH gave up because of exhaustion.

Kazuhiro Nakamura v. Yoshihiro "Kiss" Nakao - Nakamura 3RD UD
Nakao is the one in the video clip who kisses Heath Herring and then gets KOed before the fight begins. That was more exciting than this match. Yawn.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua v. Cyrille "The Snake" Diabate - Shogun 1RD TKO
Good fight, but if anything, this fight shows why stomps aren't and should never be allowed in the UFC. Shogun almost crushes Diabate's jaw with his second stomp and I shudder to think what would have happened had he connected clean on the side of his head.

Ricardo Arona v. Allistair Overeem - Arona 1RD Sub
Ok while it lasted. Arona took Overeem's back and pounded till Allistair tapped.

PRIDE Fighting Championships Open-Weight Grand Prix

    Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic (20W-4L-2D)

Josh "The Babyfaced Assassin" Barnett (19W-3L-0D)

Once again it was a war, but this time, it was lop-sided. Although he showed a lot of heart, Barnett could not withstand the onslaught from Cro Cop. Vicious body shots tore Barnett down until Cro Cop forced a tap out to strikes on the ground.

    Pride Open-Weight Grand Prix Champion:
Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic (21W-4L-2D) 1RD Sub

The former Croatian police officer will now go on to rematch Pride's undefeated Heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko for the title on December 31.

    Great PPV.
Good to see Cro Cop on top finally.

UFC is realy going to have to do something about their sub par cars.
