Preventing Mold on Leather gear

    Any hints or cures? Anything that wont take the black dye off? This is for gear I dont wear enough to keep it off by simply wearing.

    White vinegar kills mildew. I've used it to clean horse saddles for years.

    A 1:10 bleach to water solution should work for mold and pathogens.

    reducing the moisture in the storage area should also help.

    This. All my leather crap in the basement began molding. Since running a dehumidifier no problem.

    If you're going to store it for any length of time, put it in vaccuum sealed bags with a dessicant pack. I use them for all of my extra leather holsters.
