I liked the streaming news;
"Invisible boy attacked by make-believe dog."
"Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of those who Threaten Us"
Yup, you always gotta watch onion videos 2-3x, to read the crawler...lol
Alpha, Omega, Alpha, Omega...
Tell me that isnt real.
Sadly, it isn't real - but it should be!
Which reality? The Onion is very real . . . but it's "headlines" . . . not so much.
It's real in Israel
It is real. It's satirical journalism. They're criticizing the military for targeting "disadvantaged" youths in urban high schools who think they have no options for college or further education. A pretty big dig on the military if you ask me.
I can see much utility in such a program...in certain locales.
I don't think it is a dig on the military.
It is more a dig on the current government administration, saying there are no other jobs that are available and that the bailouts have done soo much for the poor youth and economy.:embarassed:
Hmm...a job that provides training, full room and board, a retirement plan, money for college tuition, and full medical care? That's a pretty good deal for someone with only a high school diploma. Most soldiers don't come from the upper financial classes who can afford college or vocational training on their own. Not everyone can get a scholarship. I would think that recruiting amongst people who are more likely to take that path is just a more efficient use of our tax dollars.
Cute, but not that funny.
"The Onion" is a fake "newspaper". The most offensive video I have ever seen from them I just now saw. It's a "related" video to the one linked. "Missing girl probably raped" or something. Kidnapping and rape are such hilarious topics......
