I keep seeing people posting "preban" mags for sale at prices nearly as high as before the AWB sunset in 2004. AFAIK, Glock stopped date-stamping mags shortly after the sunset, so who's to say when a given mag was produced. Does "preban" still have some meaning in any of the states that restrict mag capacity?

They have special meaning to shooters that live in NY.

You can visibly see the difference between a "pre-ban" and a "post-ban" Glock magazines.

    Gen 1-4 are pre-ban. Gen 5-9 are post-ban.

"Pre-ban" magazines are worth a lot in NY, because those are the only greater than 10 round magazines a non-exempt person can legally possess in NY.

Yep. Although I don't think I've seen them go for pre-2004 prices. You can get NY legal pre-bans for ~30-35, not that much more than new.

P.S. Thanks to all those that are selling their pre-ban mags at reasonable prices to those of us in NYS!
