I had a special order for a laser for a Taurus pistol that I have but due to an error the order was never placed. After my dealer apologized, he asked what I wanted to do about the order.

After a little thought, I told him to put the money as a credit toward the purchase of a Gen 4 G19 which he said would be in the store in about 2 months.

He had a Gen 4 G23 and I liked it a lot. I might even see what he would do in trade for my Gen 3 G23 as the Gen 4 fits my small hands better. The only downside is that the laser in my current G23 does not work in the Gen 4 so I would have to replace that.

Anyway, I don't have to decide about that for some time yet and just looking forward to getting the new G19.

    Mike

Really!!!! Are you sure it was a Gen 4 G23? Could it have been a Gen 3 RTF 2?

He said it was a Gen 4 and I had no reason not to believe him.

Dude, your dealer is scamming you.... The Gen4 G23's and G19's aren't out yet, and there is no release date as of yet.

This is a Gen3 RTF2, which dealers commonly, and mistakely, refer to as the Gen4

All dealers lie, and are usually quite stupid...

But, since you saw the G23, did it have adjustable grips?

Who's the dealer, I'll take a ride today to get it.

I think the fact that they don't exist yet is a good reason not to believe him.

I was at the local shop that handles GSSF sales, and saw a Gen 4 17.
I asked about the Gen 4 19/23 and was told that they 'think' they will be out, around June/July, BUT, they weren't sure.

I've not heard any 'official' release date.

You were lied to. Maybe unintentionally due to the dealer's lack of knowledge but still in the end you were lied to. What you saw was a Gen3 RTF2.

Just playin', I put money on one about a month ago. Me knowing good and well there was no release date, but I gotta have one as soon as they come out. I didnt want no "we'll have to order you one 'cause they're all sold out" bullstuff.

Damn, I wish the Gen4 19/23 was out already!!

Just got to play with a Gen4 G17 last weekend, I almost bought it even though the 17 isn't my favorite Glock.

I'm kind of not liking the look of the removable backstrap. it's not as flush looking as I thought.

if you have medium hands you can use gen4s without the backstrap at all, right? anyone have a pic of a gen 4 with no backstrap?

In person, you cannot visually tell that the backstrap is removable. I don't know why that pic makes it not look flush, but it is. It's very well engineered. That particular picture looks all kinds of wrong anyway. Look at the post following yours. That's what I saw when I handled one in the gun shop. The rear takedown pin hole looks completely different between the two pictures.
