My sister has been a diabetic for the last 16 years. In the last 3 years, her health has taken a downhill turn. One mysterious illness, related to the diabetes, after another has ravaged her poor body, resulting in an amputated leg and blindness. She is in the hospital now, with probably 24 hours left of her life. She stopped breathing last night for 30 minutes and her heart stopped for 45 minutes. They were able to resuscitate her and after a brief stay on the respirator, she is now breathing on her own, but she is non-responsive. She is 40 years old and has 2 boys, ages 16 and 7. Our family is devastated, but resigned to the fact that we are about to lose her. I am the older brother and she is my only sibling. I am normally one of those GT'ers that enjoys leaving comical and clever posts on this forum, but tonight I simply ask for your prayers for my sister and my family.
prayers to you and your family , and to a speedy resolution of the bad times. god has a plan for all.
Sorry to hear about that.Diabetes has taken lives in my family too my friend. Its going to be a hard couple days. Your sis, you and your family will be in my thoughts.
You, your family and her children will be in my prayers you can count on it. Those children are going to need their uncle.
I am a health care worker and I am around families alot. I see the anguish and pain you endure, my heart goes out to you as this is the hardest thing you will ever do; to watch a loved one suffer. She knows you love her and let that bring you some peace. Lee
