I like to learn several songs at a time. May take longer that way. But..... Thats just me.;) Question? When learning new songs. Do you guys practice one song at a time until it is automatic in your head or memory. Or do you practice several songs and play by tab and learn several songs over a period of time? Make sense?^8

I mostly sound stuff out by ear-usually start with more simple stuff like Tom Petty and The Tragically Hip with lots of open chord stuff then move to slightly more complex stuff (for me) like Robert Cray or SRV.I work with one tune until I have it,then move to the next.

I play the same song until I know it by heart.

I might break it up and not work on it from start to finish in one streak, but I generally learn one song at a time.

Actually I don't try to learn other peoples stuff too much since I am not in a cover band or anything.
I have helped my nephew learn some stuff.
I listen to it a few times. Sometimes slow it down to pick out the solos.
