LGS is finally starting to get some powder back in so I grabbed some while I was there. Still totally wiped out of primers though. [IMG]

Three VERY useful powders right there. Good choices.

The 110 was $32. The CFE Pistol was $30 and the 4064 was $38. Not the cheapest, but I've seen worse lately. This is also the ONLY full-blown LGS in Santa Fe so we don't see a lot of breaks on price here.

I've got 8lbs. of CFE Pistol I got back during the Obama era. May try it after I work through 24lbs of W231.

I have found myself using 4064 for a lot lately. It makes a decent low recoil 30-30, it’s perfect for M1 Garand loads and it’s even made me a very reliable light plinking load in 223. I’ve even tried a few loads with it in .270 with decent results.

All of my deer are shot within 100 yards and I’ve gotten to where I prefer less recoil. I have 16lbs of 4064 sitting under the work bench.

Several of the loads for my 257 Roberts and 7x57 use 4064 as does the 7-08 my son and daughter shoot so I'll usually grab some when I see it.

Powder isnt really an issue this shortage vs 2012-13. Primers, primers & more primers when available.

Yup....I'll run out of primers long before I do powder. I had a good stash built up, but then moved from Alaska to New Mexico and the logistics of moving all the hazardous stuff was a pain so I gave most of my primers and powder away before I left. Been trying to build back up ever since.

I have not had the first lick of trouble finding powder.

IMR4895 is the only powder I have wanted recently but have not been able to source, and that powder is known to have periods of scarcity not related to the current conditions.

I have been using 4064 for my Garand loads.

Reloder 25 has been tough for me. Otherwise, yes. Everything else I use has beem relatively easy to get.

FWIW, IMR 4064 is what I use for M1 Garand loads too. I haven't loaded a bunch of it since the M1 isn't mine. I'm just free to borrow it when I want. Curious, do you use IMR or Accurate 4064?

I have only used IMR 4064. I’m actually using it in .30-30 and .223 also.

A 150g FMJ over 46g of 4064 is a great shooting load. I have gone as low as 42g and it still cycles reliably.

I run the same bullets with 47g of IMR4895 with almost identical results, ~2700 FPS according to my Caldwell chrono.
