    Eric,

I did a search on jbar4ranch user name.He was a long time poster here that has dropped off the radar.

Anyways,,to make a long story short,,all of his post from the GNG section are gone and he use to post in there quite often. All of his other post seem to be intact.

I have noticed this with other users as well.

Does the GNG folder get purged more often or something?

    Hey Eric,

Just for kicks I did a search under my own user name. All post's in GNG have been deleted on my account prior to 11-05.All of my other post in other sections of the board are still there.

Is there something in the software that removes these post after say a year or so?

Perhaps to save server space? If so I completely understand.

Or was there some sort of crash in November of 05 that crashed the system?

Since GNG is a high traffic area, I wouldn't be surprised if threads are purged after so long a period of time to conserve database size.

Things in the OAF stay in the OAF. If Eric started to delet posts from the OAF, we would just invade the rest of the forums and no one wants that;f

Click search at the top of the page and you can search by member. Posts will show up from 2004 at least.

I think blackops is just referring to posts from GNG. I searched my username and found no posts in GNG earlier than Nov of '05, and I know I had posted there. I'm not sure if this link will work ( Here ) but it is a search of your posts in GNG. They don't go back any further than Mid-November, and I'm sure you've had posts there.

Also, if you go to GNG and at the bottom choose how many threads you want to see. Choose From: The beginning, and click on the very last page in the pagination list at the top or bottom. The threads stop at early November. This isn't the case through the whole forum, just GNG it appears. And as I stated before, probably because its such a high traffic area, pruning is necessary to keep down on DB size. :)

Searing for threads by forum, you will only get a couple of months worth. However, if you search by user under the search function at the top of the page (non forum specific), you will find more posts that go further back.

It's more of a hassel, but it's there.

    D,

They are listed, but a lot of oldest posts are simply dead links when you search like this...

I couldn't find something the other night I was hunting.......

    :)

Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't have clicked on that one thing that Eric said never to? ;P

J/K. I try to stay out of the Admin panel as much as possible for just that reason. ;) ;f
