I posted in the "WTB" classifieds section. I found a couple of websites, but the turn around could be months at a time. Anyone in NY or NJ know of dealers that sell post ban upper receivers? Looking for a bull barrel or permanently attached flash suppressor, and no bayonet lug. What a pain this state is.....

Might want to check your local shops. Outside of ban states, ban-compliant uppers are going to be hard to find, unless it's a federal ban-era gun someone offloaded.

Del-Ton makes some uppers. The 20 inch I've shot has been fine. Some places will use a gas block that doesn't have a bayonet lug on it if you request it, and there are places you can have the upper sent to for a permanent muzzle brake to be added to make it compliant. I'd personally prefer a clean muzzle with no threads.

Do you know how quick their turn around rate is? Seems like everyone is backed up. Dealers around here jack prices through the roof for obvious reasons

A "bull barrel" will not have a flash hider.

You do not need any special upper.

Couldn't you just order in the parts that you want and assemble your own upper to your liking?

Or is there some stipulation about shipping parts into NY/NJ?

I could assemble the upper myself, however I don't have the tools that are needed to do it.

There's no stipulation about shipping those parts to NJ. They will not send threaded barrels with flash suppressors to NJ though. It has to be pinned/welded, which would limit the hand guard installation, because you can't remove the suppressor.

It probably won't limit the handguard install. But it will limit the installation of whatever gas block you are using, which will then in turn limit the handguard.

This is insane.... Any other state, I would have had an upper already.... Most of the distributor websites I looked at have a 6-8 month lead time.... Some less, some more. Most shops around here will order one for you, but you're still looking at the same lead time.

I was browsing PK Firearms website today and they do have a Rock River Arms post ban legal upper. Here is the link, the specific upper is at the bottom of the page.

    http://pkfirearms.com/RRA_Stainless_Uppers/204/c

They are a great outfit BTW, you get a tracking number within hours of ordering from them.

I'm waiting to hear back from them. Just wanted to make sure that they don't have to order it from the respectful companies, or they really do have them in stock.

I've lived here all my life which makes it an eternity come tomorrow. Hate the state but stuck here, sucks but thats life.Good luck in your quest. My plans are for a 16 inch upper with a good lightweight rail system for a build.
