Portland, OR Solves the Problem of Homelessness

    There are no simple solutions to homelessness because there are no simple solutions to mental illness or addiction. Not saying that is all houseless people(to borrow a phrase from Carlin), but the majority I have interacted with have struggled with at least 1 or two of those problems.

    I think there are probably ways to help some, but I do not think you can help everybody. Some people become a bottomless pit of help that you can poor yourself into.(I didn't intend to use the wrong word for pour, but it actually fits the sentiment better)

    Basically the city got word of it, decided that wasn't allowed. Think the official deal was code violations. Would have to dig up the story for details.

    The housing market is booming in Portland. Renters are getting kicked out of their apartments to make way for new construction. Over a hundred people are moving there daily.

    They are sowing something. I don't think they are going to like the crop when it matures.
