While I understand their reasoning, I can also understand the cities.

Sucks that our world has come to this, but it is the world we live in.

Well, where the choice is between these guys fixing potholes and having them smash windows or set fire to buildings during "occupy" protests, I guess I'll take fixing potholes any day.

The coercive higherarchy rears its ugly head. It's all about the liability. Gosh, fixing it wrong could be worse than leaving it unfixed. And you can't have a road wok site without at least one prowl car parked there with lights flashing. At least not around here. And We know cold patch won't last a week.

"There can be no ethical services provided by the government because they are facilitated through the power of the gun," states PARC.

    Well, they're right about that

Vigilante infrastructure. Better than bureaucrats sitting on their assessment taking a check.

"Don't get us wrong, we believe that many of these services are crucial for society, like healthcare, education, and maintained roadways, but we believe that the way to achieve access for all is by deconstructing the state and capitalism, as well as other coercive hierarchies that exist in our society. It is this driving philosophy that motivates our actions, not only to fix the potholes, but to take power back from the state, into the hands of the people."

And I can't argue with this

Yes must leave it to the expert road guys I see sleeping in their work trucks in the park.

Besides, there are only 2 of them here. Good government road dept employees know that at least 6 more are required to stand around and drink coffee

    Uh oh

"It's not safe or legal for people to fill potholes on streets that are maintained by the city," said Rivera. "They run the risk of being injured in a traffic crash. They also run the risk of being held personally liable if someone were to be injured by the pothole they attempted to fix."

But this one is very confusing because, as we all know, without government and taxes there would be no roads

"It is necessary to build the community networks that we envision for a post-revolutionary society," said PARC. "When people ask anarchists, 'Who will fix the roads?' the answer is obvious: We will."

I'll predict that they'll do it, while smiling for the TV cameras, once or twice, and it'll end when they realize that their tiny group is the only one doing all the work.

Kind of like the Occupy "communities", when they finally realized that everyone was just taking and no one was giving or helping.

They sound like the libertarian flavor

Simple solution here - just sentence the anarchists to fixing the potholes. They'll either do it or refuse to do it. Win/Win!

Just wait until they injure themselves and try to blame the city, or file a worker's comp claim.
