Last month I added a Counter Sniper scope onto my Polytech M14S. Well, to make a long story short, that was a mistake. The scope was horrible. I have since returned it and purchased a Millett TRS-1 4-16x50 Tactical Scope from SWFA (I like these guys). I like this scope. Tomorrow will be its first day out. I also added a nicely constructed Winchester bipod. After adding a sling stud, it mounted up very solid.

Now I need to get a nice and comfortable cheek pad in black.

Sweet,......... may not be a "eye pleasing" idea, but build up some foam padding
    on the stock's comb area.
A few well placed pieces of tape, followed by a piece of an old black t-shirt works well.
Hold the tape inplace with electrical tape on the ends. Should work until you can get a proper pad.

Blackhawk makes a few nice lace on ones.

Nice rifle. I have a Norinco I've been meaning to scope. Which mount are you using?
I have a Super Sniper 10x that will go on once I decide which mount to use
ETA: Check out Karsten's cheek piece. That or an Eagle Industries stock pouch will make shooting much more comfortable.

Very nice! Man, that thing begs for a nice walnut stock, leather MRT cheek piece and leather sling. Listen.....can't you hear it??

Not sure if you ever use the M14S as a CQB rifle, but 10x is way too much power under 100 yards.

To the OP...glad you saw the light and ditched the POS scope. I suppose the Millet is somewhat of an upgrade.

Today was the perfect day to get to the range. That is what everyone else thought too. After waiting 45 minutes to get a spot, I was able to get the new Millett TRS-1 sighted in (@100 yds.). If anyone ever say that the Polytech M14S is not accurate, send them to me. Once the scope was dialed in, it had no problem hitting center of a 3" disc at 100 yds. The bipod makes a world of difference too, IMO. I did have a little problem with the bipod loosing after a while. I think I may redo that assembly. Looks like I will add a short picatinny rail and buy a LaRue/Harris Bipod Combo. Of course, a SAGE EBR stock would be sweet too.

New Karsten's Model A cheekpiece installed. Karsten wasted no time getting it to me.
