Did you polish or wet sand the front rail/locking block and rear rails?
Can you take pics? I have completed 4 compact builds and haven't noticed any gouging on the barrels, but all of mine are OEM.Yes, used a Dremel with a polishing wheel and Mothers Mag & Al polish. Wanted to make sure I didn’t have any “friction” issues.
I am using OEM barrels on my P80 builds, and have no barrel gouging. Like you, I did polish front and rear rails, including the frame.View attachment 400676 My P80 ran fine as previously stated and continues to run great. The gouging on the bottom of the barrel continues. I use a dermel with Mothers polish to keep on the barrel after each range visit but it continues to occur. Has anybody used a factory barrel with a Polymer 80 build? If so, do they have the same problem ie barrel gouging?
No problem. I am almost certain an OEM barrel will correct your problem. Good Luck.Interesting, I to polished the front and rear rails on my P80 build prior to firing 1st round. Looks like the only differences are the barrels and the actual build itself. Looks like my next step is to buy a “Glock” OEM barrel.
Thanks for your timely response.
Part# SP03577So when purchasing an OEM barrel, what barrel (part #) should I buy. I'm seeing a couple of different options for Glock 19 barrels. I know nothing about Glocks in all honesty. I just liked this DIY project, and decided to give it a try.
