    Just wondering what everyone's favorite all time, all occasion hunting cartridge is for taking game at 100 yards and over.

    I would have to say mine in the 7mm Rem Mag 140 grain (with the .30-06, 165 grain a close second).

    165 gr.nosler partition reloaded to perfection for said rifle.
    For larger game then deer,the 180gr.or 200gr.partition for same rifle.

    You did not say what type of game over 100 yards.

    22/250 and .223 = varmint

    30.06 = deer/elk

    50 BMG = the nasty's that come out at night ;)

    Of course, the 30.06. Never forget one safari where I slew everthing from hummingbirds to hippos! The entire stay was one great battle. The damn hummingbirds kept trying to dip their beaks into our fruitpunch/rum/whiskey/gin/brandy sundowners! The hippos tried to hog the water hole. The rest of everything just presented itself.

    love my 7mm Rem. mag in a few different grains, little heavy for deer, decent for elk.
    and for varmits the 22-250 is a real ripper.
