Nascar represents everything bad about America to me. Why can't we have nice things?

I'm not a big fan of any racing that only turns left (yeah, I know they throw in the odd road course), but even so, it's the worst possible overproduced version of itself.

Makes me want to cry. (The current iteration, I know it was different in the past)

Once to Charlotte as a guest of nascar. All access with a luxury box. I don't think I'll ever top that trip so I doubt I'll go to another one.

Used to attend open wheel and sports car racing. In the 1970’s. Tinnitus would now render that a torture fest.

I live about 5 miles from the Talladega track. I have worked a number of them in either a Fire, EMS, or LE position. I was paid to see the race basically. I am NOT a fan after dealing with some of the infielders for those 4-5 days that they camp there in their RVs.

But..... I did enjoy working those Friday and Saturday nights on the infield! Man, what a party!

I’ve done tons of OT shifts at the KY Speedway. I like the $$$ but hated the detail.

Kinda. I fueled the infield power generators at New Hampshire International Speedway while cars were on the track once.

I saw a race on a dirt track in Hillsboro. The race was won by Ned Jarrett driving a 1964 Ford fast back. The dirt track has been abandoned for many years.

No, but I’ve always heard that Richmond is a good one...and it’s right in my backyard. Maybe one of these days I’ll change that.

I've been to Richmond once and Dover twice. Hoping to make it to Watkins Glen this year.

I was at the 1963 race at Bridgehampton NY. We got to wander around the pits before and after the race. We got to talk to Richard Petty, Fred Lorenzen and Buck Baker. I can tell you that it’s not a great place to watch a race. We stayed inside the racetrack and could only see two turns at a time. The best vantage point was at the end of the straight where they braked for a turn.

There’s a list of competitors that is very interesting along with the purse. If you could call it that.

I had no clue that they still raced at the Glen. If I even went to a race again it would be Bristol, but that’s a long shot.

Richard Petty's last win was at Daytona at the 1984 Firecracker 400.

I've been to the Coca Cola 600 in Charlotte once.

Yes , most of those more than once . Some of those places they no longer race at . Rockingham and North Wilkesboro were two of my favorite races alone with Martinsville . I don’t go any more . Rules , multi car teams and management have ruined the sport for me . They don’t even have a sponsor for the series this year .

    Darlington
    Charlotte
    Rockingham
    North Wilkesboro
    Martinsville
    Richmond
    Dover
    Pocono

I used to work EMS at the Bristol race a lot but never been a big fan. I had more fun working on the crash team for the drags at Thunder Valley. After #3 left I pretty much quit even following who was doing what.
