I've done a search on this forum and I'm having a hard time finding a company that will polish/chrome my slide for my Glock 17.

I found the web site (www.customizedcreationz.com) but I have sent multiple emails and voicemails and I have not received a call back yet.

Can somebody point me in the direction of a company that can do this for me that does a good job for a good price!

Save your money. Easy to do. I did two Sigma's. Start with 320 grit wetsand until the finish is totally gone. Move up to 600 and don't stop until all the "scracthes" are gone from the 320. Next 800 until all 600 grit "scracthes" are gone. Same process, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500 then Mothers mag polish. Total time about 4 hours and cost about $10-$12 bucks. Auto body paint shop sells the wet sandpaper you will need. One sheet of each is plenty. Mirror shine and maintenance free except for fingerprints. I did mine and my wifes both. If you need more direction PM me....Joe

    Zo6 Vett really ? Lucky man,nice *** car.GO CHEVY !
Now back to guns,I don't like gettin to abrasive with Glock steel unless you're gonna plate it with something.

I never get to say nothing here anymore you guys are so well schooled.

Tenifer,it's the protective layer under the blueing. The barrel, slide, just blueing.
Through the years,I've found a way to remove the blueing without touching the Tenifer.

Soak striped slide or barrel in Vineger over night. You can almost wipe the blueing off with a rag.

Baking soada water soak, neutralizes acids from vin..

Ain't pretty yet. Mother's metal polish.

    Barrel-0000-steel wool Mother's polish and elbow grease.Chrome.

Slide-The slide is a bit textured so,you need to steel wool, fine brass wire wheel, finish off with mothers and steal wool. Chrome and still have Tenifer.

I'm tempted to try your method if I had a spare slide.

    Thanks for the suggestions everybody.

I just joined this web page and I'm blown away on how fast the responses are! Pretty cool.

Although... this is something I don't mind paying for if it is done right. I would rather not do it myself. I'm sure I would fine some way to screw it up!

yeah I was just browsing the classifieds for a used barrel. I like to tinker with things, but still have an untouched original.

I'm very hands on and will fix about any & everything I can before i have someone else do it. This is a tempting thing to try.

Tenifer is the protection not the blueing.
