Has anyone purchased a police trade-in Beretta 92F or FS at J&G Sales? I'm seriously considering it, but the pictures online look like the guns are awfully beat up. Anyone have any insight?

I was also looking at some of the S&W 38 Special revolvers, but I'm coming to the same conclusion.

If someone could let me know their experience(s) with J&G Sales or just on police trade-ins in general, I'd appreciate it.

Ouch. I'd never heard of them before, but after looking at the photos of the P92F, I'd say that we would disagree about what "good to very good" condition is on a handgun.

Those things look beat to hell.

J&G has a reputation, and it's not necessarily a good one.

this is like the 5th thread for the 92f's from jgsales ..

my opinion is pass on them,

they are not very good quality when you can get a brand new revised and updated model for not a hole lot more ..

just buying the duracoat for the 92f is putting you into the price range of a NIB one from private party

Looks like they use NRA Antique Gun standards.

You are pulling my leg, right? Thats beat up? For a trade in? If I could get the one in that pic, Id buy 4. No shizz. I need to post up pics of mine. The idea of a police trade, it works great. Already scratched up. Dont worry so much about the use, youll rarely find ANY gun thats used up. Who cares about the dings if its "been there, done that" and still works as good, or slicker than a new one? Someone put their azz on the line for a loooong time toting that piece, its not gonna look new.

Have you seen some of the M4s in the sandbox?

On a side note. I bought a G23 trade awhile back. That must have been one sexy cop, her perfume is all over the thing! I cant CCW it, you can smell the perfume...my wife asked me why I was "sniffing my pistol"....:supergrin::supergrin:

I'm picturing a thigh holster.......under a miniskirt. Maybe she was an undercover vice cop:supergrin:

Looked like a good price on them to me. If I didn't have a M9A1 I would be ordering me one of those

I think thats a bit high. I would think $250-275. If they are selling alot of them at that price, I guess thats good for them. :wow:

My local shop had a bunch last year for either $250. They had alot of wear, but that wasn't a bad price. I should have bought one. I kind of want a 92, but not enough to pay full price. I do like the M9 and the Inox though:cool:

    hopefully, on your ignore list
    In general:

I bought a trade in Glock 22 (may be 23) refurbished by Glock that was in outstanding shape. It looked brand new and supposedly still had a warranty. I got it from CDNN.

I've seen an HK USP that was a trade in with "holster wear". The "holster wear" looked like someone had taken a coarse file to the grip. The firearm wasn't smooth, and looked like hell, but from what he said, he never had a problem with it. I don't know where the HK was purchased.

Unless it was refurbished by the manufacturer, it's not something I would want to buy without fondling first.

I stop in to J&G when I'm up there. Ammo prices aren't bad, but I'd never buy a gun from them. They specialize in used junk and Saturday night specials.
