John Michael Keane II was arrested following Tuesday afternoon's robbery of the BB&T at 825 Volvo Parkway. The investigation led police to charge him with the July 10 and December 23, 2009 robberies as well. He faces three counts each of robbery, wearing a mask in public, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and entering a banking house with the intent to commit a larceny. Jack Bider, president of Chesapeake's Fraternal Order of Police, wasn't surprised to hear about a bank robbery, but he was surprised by the suspect. "Finding out that it was a sheriff's deputy is totally, totally shocking," said Bider. Keane, 32, has been with the department since 1998. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant less than two years ago. Keane is in the Va. Beach City Jail and is due in court on March 31.
