I'll need one for next year and subsequent years. It will go in my cargo pants pocket. I use a vest holster now but I'm leaving patrol and the new uniform won't work with a vest holster, it's too robust to get open quickly to reach a vest holster.

It will be for a G27/26. Thoughts?

I personally like the Desantis Nemesis for my Glock 27.

Good luck. I have always found the 27 too big for a pocket.

I use a Mika for my J-frame and my Taurus. I have two of them. Mika can make one to fit a Smith 6906 which is bigger than a G27 so if your pockets and belt can handle the weight, then by all means go for it.

cool, have you guys ever had problems with the holster pulling out of the pocket with the gun while trying to draw?

I'll be wearing 5.11 pants and the cargo pockets are pretty big but have a felt type of lining inside of them.

Nah, that little lip by the trigger guard catches on the hem of the pocket pretty well and the internal friction is zilch so the gun comes out without binding.

I've used the Desantis for a 642 but found it to be a bit bulky. I then bought a Mika, an excellent piece of gear at a great price.

...and the mouth of the holster stays open (doesn't collapse) for easy re-holstering.....

+1 on the Desantis nemesis. I use or have used them for a Glock 26, Kel- Tec P32, and Kel- Tec PF9

Maybe I'm weird, but I have no issues with an Uncle Mikes pocket holster (size 4, I think) for my Taurus 85 I carry off duty sometimes.

I have a Nemesis and like it fine. The Super Fly's a little better. I bought one for my wife to carry her S&W Bodyguard in and it's a really nice holster.

Alabama Holster can make you a holster that won't tilt in that cargo pocket. Let them know the measurements on the inside of the pocket and they can make it with a wide base and it will be strong side/weak side specific.

I'm not an officer, so probably shouldn't be posting here, but...

I've tried 3 different pocket rigs for a 26. A galco leather model, an ahern leather model, and a kydex holster from Aholster. By far, the best one I've used is the kydex model from Alan. I drag that thing around everywhere and with the shape of the holster, it breaks up the shape on the outside, stays in the pocket when drawn, and gives good protection of the triggerguard area.

lefthandholster dot com is his website. I don't have any affiliation with him either, just had good luck with this one.
