Can some one confirm the spacing on a Glock Plate Rack? I think it is 14 inches center to center but not sure. I know it is 8 inch plates.

a quick look at the glock report showed no call out for c/c spacing, it did show 8" plates. i've seen a few plate that must of been 9"-10" c/c and other more like 15" c/c.

Here's another plate question. What is the thickness of the steel?

I'd like to make some plates for practice. A friend has some 1/8 inch thick steel I can use, but he thinks that would be too thin, that the larger calibers would dent or puncture it.

    Anyone know?

Yep; have seen them reeeeealllly close together.... the ol' PD range in Rochester had a nice rack...
    :crying:

and I've seen some that could easily be 8-12" edge-to-edge. It varies range to range.

If I'm just messing around practicing w/some cheapo paper plates I tend to set them up about 6-8" edge-to-edge, 'cause if I'm getting out on the perforated edge I'm missing at the match and need to focus on the front sight for that shot.

Depends on the range and what they have. I have used racks that are on 12 inch centers and 12 inch edge to edge. I would guess most plates are around .250.

3/8 AR400 will work with most pistol calibers.

Our plates (BGSL-Wilmore-Lexington,KY) are 3/8" AR500 and were custom made by MGM Targets. They have a 3" x 3" portion that is pre-cut with square holes for mounting to the hinge piece with grade 5 carriage bolts. Unlike the original plates that came on the plate rack from GSSF, these plates have not bent, cupped or broken.

Thanks for the plate info. I will check out MGM Targets. May be cheaper to buy than to custom make.

Well, perhaps I was optimistic. 6" plates are $48 each!

If my memory failes me, which it normally does.

Glock's plate rack the plates are 8" diameter and 18" center to center. 42" off the ground and placed at 11 yards.

You still have to shoot them one at a time.

The racks that are set sideways on a hill

    would ruin your timing anyway.

I will be tickled to be at Lex this weekend and hopefully use just 24 rounds per division to traverse rledwards fine steel.
