JR, is the change for a reliability issue or a recoil issue? I know more weight in the front will dampen recoil,or is this more of a personal preference thing?

The plastic guide rod will deliver a lifetime of service. No worries but..... sometimes bad things happen.

The metal guide rods will never chip, crack or break. They also allow you to change the recoil spring weight to complement the ammunition you are using and add a little more weight.
