Places that you would guard in a TEOTWAWKI

    What would be places that you would guard in a end of world scenario?

    Like hospital? Schools?

    Why would I guard a hospital or school? More than likely they will be sacked and there will be nothing left except the hollow shell of a building.

    Am I the mayor or something and dispatching reinforements or are we still just John Q Prepper here??

    I'm going to guard my family and belongings. Churches, schools, hospitals...good luck with that!!

    Are you talking about what would be a priority to keep protected and operating through a really bad SHTF possible EOTWAWKI? Something that would benefit the survivors as a whole?

    I'd say a good college library/bookstore. Really the whole college, including staff, if you could swing it.

    The problem is, the big brains at the college would think that they ought to be running things and that would likely end up very badly.

    Is this Lights Out where the community is banning together? If so farms and where we are storing the medical supplies. Other than that my family...

    Nothing. Why would you want to make a spectacle and target out of yourself? When the world comes to an end, I have absolutely no intention of being in an urban area.

    Screw that. I'd rather be looking at the surrounding buildings and hills so I can find that .338 Lapua so I can be taking shots at the guys guarding the mall with the duct taped trauma plates.:whistling:

    A library.

    I live about six blocks from a university library. When I think of the amount of knowledge contained in that building, I am a bit overwhelmed.

    Hopefully survivors would eventually band together and restore some order and take up responsibilities for more than just thier own individual interests. One individual or family would not last long unless they organized with others for mutual benefit. I don't care how well prepared, if you are alone you will be vulnerable.
    First priorities would be organizing for protection, water/food sources, ....

    I would guard my assets. I don't care much about anything else, at least until the smoke clears. Then I would start to think outside the box.

    I think most here would say - pick up any extra preps you can that does not put you at risk. Then stay home and safe for as long as you can so to stay out of harms way until you can emerge and get around as safe as possible.

    There is no need to be putting yourself out there as a target.

    That is all well and good, but you can eat books nor will thay keep you warm unless you burn them...Hey I'm just say'in!

    I wouldn't guard a library. I would just grab a bible and then take over a bar with a tap to an underground well and then take over the town. Find myself a blind woman who used to be a Flashdancer who has a super hot daughter that my #1 henchman lusts after and I am set!
