I sent in the paperwork for the pistol prize that I won in the Central Florida match. I know they say not to call before 12 weeks have passed. I was wondering if I could call GSSF to just confirm that they received my paperwork. I don't care about the status of the order any more than whether they received the paperwork or not. Would they be upset with me if I called them about that? Would they even be able to tell me if they have the paperwork?
Relax, patients is a virture. There are only 4 or 5 folks running everything. Remember the more times they have to answer a phone call takes them away from sending out prises, membership packets and so on. Depending on the model you ordered their request of not calling for 12 weeks usually works fine. I have had some come in within 4 weeks and I have waited as long as 16 weeks but with a small crew and everything they must do I suggest giving them a chance to do their jobs. They do it very well for such a small crew. Don
I'm not worried at all about anything going on once it gets to GSSF. I was more trying to confirm that they received it. I basically want to confirm that the FFL actually sent out the paperwork.
Then confirm with your FFL. The FFL I use hands me his paperwork and I put it in the envelope with my paperwork and I mail it to GSSF. I have never had a problem nor have I heard of a problem in the 10+ years that I have been doing it this way. Don
Then it is probably time to find a new FFL. I usually get 2 copies of his license every time I stop by my FFL.
+1, You bought the paperwork when you paid the FFL the fee, and you should be given a copy of the transaction documentation every time. My guy gives me copies of everything.
Hockey, Did your FFL attach a copy of his license to your certificate or did you mail the certificate separately? GSSF has no means of matching stray documents.
I gave him the cert and filled out the paperwork. He said he would mail the signed copy of FFL with all my paperwork. I haven't called to confirm if they've mailed it though. I'll do it tomorrow.
