So at least 6 weeks unless the DA has pretty much decided what they need to do to get re-elcted

Well, at least the Sheriff doesn't have to worry about getting into a legal battle. You don't see many Sheriff's that are attorneys.

The shootee is well with the 21' range.

It looks like MCGLOCKTON, MARKEIS DEON 03/28/1990 was active several years ago, but the Pinellas County court records don't show him as a defendant after 2011. I only copied the charges listed as a felony.

Yeah, I gotta believe this isn't going anywhere.

I wonder if the FL law expert will be here to dig himself a hole in this one, too.

Unfortunate there were two very bad decisions made that day.

I havent seen anyone throw out the what gun, caliber and grain round did he use question?

Does anyone know if the defendant was handicapped? This teaches us to keep to ourselves.

Might be a bit early to call him a defendant at this point. Or clairvoyant.

Pretty sure I read in one of the news reports that it was a 9mm. I haven’t seen anything about the gun other than the Sheriff has it.

My biggest question is why did the shooter even talk to the lady in the car? Off duty, I barely talk to anyone who isn't related to me and I could care less if they are illegally parked. That guy should have called PCSO if he was that upset about it. Stupid people play stupid games and win stupid prizes. I think there will be charges filed but that is just me.

I haven't followed the threads on this issue, but here is my take on this use of force incident.

Here in Texas, you can't use deadly force unless it is immediately necessary to do so. (Chapter 9 of the Texas Penal is our use of force statutes if anyone cares to look them up.) From what I see in the video, it wasn't immediately necessary for the guy on the ground to have used deadly force(9.22 Necessity).

I'm all for "stand your ground"(here in Texas is "there is no duty to retreat"), but from what I saw in that video, he didn't appear justified in using deadly force against the other fella.
