I want to look up someone's pilot's license. How do I do so? Virtually every other professional or amateur licensee is now a matter of public record; If you are real estate agent, that information is public and licensees can be looked up, if you are a contractor, that information is public and licensees can be looked up, if you hold a professional or amateur FCC radio license that information is public and licensees can be looked up. I can't find a lookup for pilot licensees on the FAA website though.. what am I missing?

If you are a law enforcement officer, you can have your certificate information kept private. It will show as no certificates on record.

Somewhere on the faa airman info site there is a link that will let you opt out to keep your information private.

When one hauls several hundred people a day, I see no benefit having my home address available to some convict with a wireless laptop after finding out we're starting out on a 4-6 day trip.

If the persons pilots information is not "popping" up, it may take a little time for it to update.
