The Springfield Custom Shop will refinish your 1911 in Black-T (not to be confused with their Armory Kote, which is a totally different finish). According to their price/spec sheet, the cost to refinish the entire gun in Black-T is $195. Click on the link below and then click on the box for "1911-A1 Custom Worksheet".
Black T finish.
That looks sweet! What finish is that?
They just send it to Birdsong. Black T is his finish, not Springfield's. You may as well just send it to him directly.
nice grip...more info?
They are Larry Davidson's Barbed Wire grips.
I normally prefer his Horned Lizard grips. I found these
listed on a 1911 froum site. Bought them as quickly as I could.
Larry Davidson is THE premier G10 grip Guy!

Top pistol is a 1991 Colt .38 Super/9mm Conversion pistol that I have some work into.
The center gun is a Kimber in .45; the only Kimber parts that remain are the frame, slide and barrel.
The third gun is a Ti Caspian frame with .38 Super/9mm barrels that I built.
That is nice.
Who did the checkering?
That IS a major compliment, thanks.
Work was accomplished at Mr. Richard Heinie's shop.
30 lines-per-inch, frontstrap, trigger guard and mainsprinbg housing are
all perfect, not a flaw to be found.
I have wanted a Heinie Colt Commander for some time.
I grew up within 35 miles of his shop, a small town Guy, truly an amazing individual!
Very nice. You won't find many flaws in his work.
No Sir, there are no stray machine marks, no burrs, just simple perfection.
thanx for the 411, will def check his stuff out!!!
and last for a while.
Colt WWI reissue, 1x11WMK serial number, carbonia blue finish.
