I just got back from two different stores within 10 minutes of me and snapped these pictures. One of the stores being Walmart and the guy back in sporting goods told me there was more, this is what is left since they last stocked the shelves on Friday...

Nice prices. I need to find a Walmart around here with ammo. I paid $12.40 per box plus shipping on Friday from an online retailer.

Last week my WM had 9mm WWB the 50 rnd boxes not the 100 rnd boxes but the price was OK about $10 plus change. Did'nt buy any then, this week went back after a range visit and they had no WWB at all, they did have just 1 9mm UMC mega pack (250 rnds) - so I bought it - didn't need 250 rnds but if thats all they had then what else could I do.

I know stores are usually hit or miss but around here they have been staying somewhat stocked. If you go in looking for something in the popular calibers (9,40,45), odds are you will find at least a box of something.

I took these photos on a Monday afternoon, neither store stocked anything today so this is what was left after a whole weekend of shopping.

The point of my thread and the pictures is to show there is hope and things are looking up. Last year, there was no hope of finding a single box on any shelf. Most the ammo was sold well before it hit the shelves as people got tipped off and ammo would be held for certain customers.

Not the best prices, but wait until ammo dries up again and it will. the worst is not over yet. Try finding hollow point SD.

No, they are not but still a FAR cry from gun shop/gun show prices. As for JHP SD...

I buy most of mine SD ammo online.

I know for a fact that there is ammo in my area. But there is a guy that owns his own gun shop/pawnshop business that will go in every morning and buy all the ammo that he can. and resale it at his place of business. I believe that a certain clerk is also helping him by holding back the ammo. aka hiding it until the guy shows up.

I can drive 30 miles south and find ammo all day long.

My Wal-Marts are generally out of handgun ammo, except for 50 round boxes of .22 LR.

Still hit and miss here with WM. I check every time I go for the wife for the odd stuff she sends me to look for. Last time I came home I told her "they didn't have the what ever it was you wanted, but they had .40s&w in 165 grain FMJ". Oddly enough she hasn't sent me in awhile.

I've been able to squirrel away about 1500 rounds of each caliber I shoot, so now I'm using the money I would have used to buy ammo to source reloading equipment and components. (I've got about 2000 rounds of empty brass for each caliber as well)

+1 on the self defense though, tough to find it still.

    That sucks!

I had heard (through a WM employee) a gun shop of doing that here last year and I consistently dropped anonymous emails to both the store manager and corporate. Whether it was true or not, within a few weeks I wasn't seeing Walmart brands on the shelves any longer. This is about two weeks after a guy who worked at the shop was telling me that I should be buying ammo at the shop instead of WM to support the sport. Whatever...up yours buddy! I sure hope I pissed in someones Wheaties!

I live outside of the suburbs so other than a couple stores that sell ammo here, I have to drive 30+ miles just to get to a gun shop or sporting goods store.

My local Wally World has been out of .45ACP and 9mm since before Christmas.
Curiously, they have plenty of .357SIG and .40S&W.
