Pickled Okra test: it's ready

    Not too bad, although not as crunchy as the store-bought variety.

    They get soggy unless you leave the stems fairly long on them. Thats something I learned from my mom.

    I have often wondered how the use of pickling lime would do with okra. We use pickling lime to make our sweet pickles crunchy. Like....saltine cracker crunchy I'm talking about. Any ideas?;Q

    Thanks for the info jawjaboy! I made delicious sweet pickles but couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. They are crispy but not as crispy as I would like. Next time I'll know ;)
