I'm buying a SR9 Monday. I love the ergos. I also shot one and did really well. My only concern is Durability. The slide and barrel are cast. I also know some of the barrels have had peening issues. I plan on shooting it quite a bit, thoughts?

Ive got 1500 rounds through mine(SR9c) so far without a hitch. meaning literally ZERO malfunctions. ive heard no real durability concerns on the Ruger forums other than just like most brands some strange thing here and there but nothing that seems to be a trend or anything. I say go for it.

Pretty much echo the above. Only addition would be that the trigger on the SR9c is much better than that of the SR9.

Otherwise, IMO Ruger will take care of any issue that may present itself with their products.

The barrel is cast? Interesting. I cannot comment on the durability of the SR9 but when I had an issue with my LC9 Ruger took care of it quickly and returned the gun in great working condition. My guess is that if you had an issue with it Ruger would take care of it.

depends, if its a newer model sr9 made after the sr9c came out they SHOULD have the exact same triggers(aka the good trigger). If its older than when the sr9c came out its gonna have the "not so nice" trigger.

I liked my SR9c, I put a ghost rocket connector in it, and it improved the trigger TREMENDOUSLY. It's not as easy to fit as the glock though, if you pull the trigger hard it won't reset, gotta fit it down more.

I have the SR40c, no issues. I did notice that my friends who limp wrist a bit had issues with FTF, but I never had it happen to me.
