unfortunately, it was too late to hit the range with her, and they are closed today:crying:. I will have to be content with loading and unloading the mags, trying to loosen up the incredibly stiff springs. Getting the tenth round in is a difficult task, even with an Uplula. Getting a full mag seated is currently a two handed job. I am sure after a week of sitting loaded, the mag springs should loosen a bit. Check out the test fire date. 3/8, meaning it went from Glock, to Ed's to my hands in 10 days. Talk about hot off the presses!! I may have to address taking all my guns to the range each time now. Adding the G30 and her ammo, to the other 4, aint gonna make my range bag any lighter:supergrin:

Congrats! I think you're gona like it. Those mag springs will ease up after awhile. As stiff as they are, you wouldn't think they'd ever wear out! Good luck!

Congrats on the G30 as it is my most-carried Glock. Take it to the range and report back. I feel sure that you will love it.

Congrats on the new G30. My advice on the magazines is that they absolutely WILL become easier to load over time. Leave them fully loaded for a week or two. Repeated range use (loading and unloading the springs) will complete the break-in process.

Leaving a fully-loaded magazine inserted slide-forward (chamber empty, of course, for safety) will accelerate the break-in process (the bullet stack compresses the spring a bit further because the pick-up rail pushes the stack down even past the fully-loaded point).

The nine-round G30 magazine is the worst of all Glock magazines to fully load. I needed to do the slide-forward thing to make them useable. It worked.

    I hope this helps.

Congrats on the new G30! Try to find some of these if you can--they make a big difference (to me) while carrying IWB:

As stated earlier, the 9-round magazines are a bear to get loaded up, and are difficult to get running in a 9+1 config at first. The more they're cycled/stored up loaded, the looser they get.

Here are some ideas for you for IWB carry. I like the Comp-Tac MTAC holsters, and they've done well for me because they don't "creak" when I carry them, unlike some brands (I won't name them publicly here...)

    With the 9-round magazine:

    Enjoy your new .45!

    Congrats.

I have an IWB for my G30 from Theis working well for me.

I got another brand IWB for my G19 doing not so well for me but it has been working well for others here.

I hope you will find the right one for you.

I just got my first G30SF on Friday. My test fire date was 02/13/12, so it may have sat a little while. I had trouble locating one in my area, so when I ran across it, I had to get it. I also ordered an IWB from Don Hume, the PCCH. Congrats on your find!
