Finally ventured into the 1911 world with my first purchase - it's a Colt Special Combat Government - O1980CM. She was used but in pretty good condition. Thought I would post a few pics here and join the club. Enjoy...

Congratulations. The Special Combat Government is a great gun.

I have one chambered in .38 Super and finished in hard chrome. It is one of my top three shooters.

Thanks guys!! I have only had one opportunity to shoot it, and really had a blast - literally!! I have to find a way to easily acquire the front sight - had some trouble first time out.

Hope to get out again next week some time and put a few more rounds down range - since this will be the "fun" gun, I probably won't shoot it nearly as much as my duty weapons, but it will have a fairly decent amount of rounds shot through it! I can't wait!!!
