Earlier today I picked up my Draco AK-47 pistol after almost 2 months of waiting. This thing is AWESOME!!! :dancing:

It's about half the size of a normal AK. Just the meat n potatoes of the gun.

I was told it was coming with one 20rd. mag. Instead I got two brand new 30rd. mags. Not a nick or scratch on them. I do however still need a 20rd. mag. Any ideas who has them the cheapest?

I tried a bunch of mags in it and they all fit just fine. Right now, since it's a GHB gun, it has a 10rd. mag in it. The 30rd. mag made it a little too heavy for the GHB. Maybe 1mm of mag wobble if that, for anyone who's curious. The mags fit tight and swap out easily.

Overall, it's not the lead brick everyone said it was going to be. Is it as light as a Glock? Well no, but then again it's an AK-47! They aren't polymer pistols. But for it's size it's really not that hefty weight-wise.

It feels pretty nice and aims well. With a decent 2-point sling it should carry pretty decently as well.

I'm not overly thrilled with the furniture but then again it's going to be a range toy and a SHTF gun so it doesn't have to win any beauty contests. But, while the wood on the gas tube is a nice brown color, the handgaurd wood is about 20 different shades and looks like it was left in a puddle of water for a year or so. It's fit and function is perfect, but the coloring is really rough looking. The grip is a brownish wood looking plastic. Again, not the best furniture I've seen in the looks dept. but it'll work.

As far as the nut on the muzzle, the underside just has a small weld on it holding it on. I've been told that taking a dremmel to it will release it so I might try that after I find a suitable flash hider.

I can't post pics, but please feel free to ask any questions. :)

I don't plan on carrying this into any parks to piss off LE or test any laws, so the orange paint won't be needed. ;)

As far as the flash, I haven't shot it yet, but I've seen them throw 2 foot wide fireballs...so it should be impressive. Like I said, I'll probably end up putting a flash hider on it.

One thing I forgot to mention was the trigger. It's a Tapco and it's VERY crisp! I love it. It doesn't have that grind to it that traditionally AK's have.

    Whats a GHB gun?

That G2 that tapco sells is a very nice trigger assembly, no slap at all.

Aimsurplus.com was selling 20 round Hungarian mags for $9.95 each, order three and they come in a canvas pouch.

I ordered 9 and received several AK wrenches and tools in one of the pouches as a bonus.

Thanks for the info. I usually only jump on Aim Surplus deals if they come with free shipping. Otherwise you have to order a ton of stuff to make it worth their shipping cost.

    Thanks!!

My camera is really crappy. It shows no detail whatsoever. Pics end up looking like general gun blobs.

Plus I'm not e-savvy enough to know how to post them. I have to bug a GTer buddy to do it.

    A couple of suggestions:

#1 Sand and stain the wood, then re-laquer / poly / whatever. It'll be beautiful!
#2 ANY after market grip will enhance the control/firing of that little fireball! Lot's of love for the SAW style Tapco.
#3 Sight - wise, I really think the thing needs a laser or a red dot (like a LaRue Iron Dot). However - if it's all about the irons, increasing the sight radius is always good, and I suspect this would work. Thinking about these for my full sized AK's. May I suggest cheking this out:

    And of course, the sling...

And no, it is not a Glock, but then again, no Glock fires 7.62x39!

    Enjoy!

I want to put a red dot on it, and even started a thread on just finding a mount (since there's no side-mount plate on the side of the receiver), but the cheapest that is going to get, JUST FOR THE MOUNT, will be around $80.

In terms of a sling, am thinking of going with the Magpul two and single point combo sling.

As far as a grip I LOVE the Ergo Suregrip I have on my AR. I think they make them for AK's.

    Thanks!:)
