For some strange reason, I have been on a fixed wing kick lately. I mostly fly helicopters, but I have been known to occasionally fly fixed wing. The other week I was looking at my log books, and noticed I met all of the requirements for a Commercial Airplane rating. I figured what the heck, and scheduled a checkride with a local examiner. I went out and got my 3 hours dual for the checkride "currency" and went for the test yesterday. 45 mintues in the oral, and 1.7 in the air later, I walked away with a nice white slip of paper now adding fixed wing priveledges to my commercial helicopter ratings. Everything else from here on out is just an add-on rating. I gues I'll try to bust out a multi-engine rating as well.
