    Hey guys,

Just got back from picking up an older Glock 17 that I believe is a gen 1. It has the rounded pebble grip. I got a screaming deal ($250.00) from a friend.

The serial is prefix DG which from the database puts it around 87-88 if I am thinking straight.

    Here are some pics.

Just to confirm, does anyone know for sure if it is a Gen 1? I didn't get to field strip it yet but I don't believe is was updated at all.

    Thanks!!!!

Yes you have a Gen1. I picked one up a couple weeks ago too, but didn't get quite the deal you did. Congrats!

I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six

Does the frame have the little eagle Austrian proof marks near the ejection port like the barrel does? Many early G17's don't have Austrian proofed frames even though the slide and barrel are so marked. My pencil-barreled AK prefix G17 is not proof marked on the frame. I kinda wonder if the frame wasn't made in Austria?

BTW: Nice friend, he gave that pistol to you. Buy him dinner.

I just detailed it, very clean inside. It has all the black parts. It does have the proof on the frame. I was doing some research and checked it. I will try and get some more pics of internals and proof.

    Thanks!
