A juvenile red tailed hawk crashed into my house today. It staggered around blinking and shaking it's head for over four hours. I was not sure if it was ever going to recover? I took this photo just before it decided to take flight.

Dave, I've never seen a redtail with tail banding.

I've got a drone video of it too..... I'll have to stick it up on YouTube.... L8TR

Okay... I got it into YouTube.... the new rules are goofy and not very clear..... but as I see it, if you're under 18yo, you must avert your eyes while this vid plays.

Please don't ask me why... I dunnow... but there's new rules on YT and I believe that if you open one vid to children, then ALL your videos are rated that way. That could be problematic if you show something that's shocking to a 3 yo.

Kinda like a Red Flag law on the internet. YT wants you to check all your older vids you have posted too. ... just in case you're guilty and don't know it.

    There is no mercy ...

    Anyway, here's a Non-child .... Mature Adult Only video.....

Sky was clear overhead this morning, but we had a cloud bank to the east, so no direct sunshine at sunrise. About 10 minutes after sunrise, I noticed the moon looked super-bright in the deep-blue morning sky, so of course I grabbed my camera and snapped a few shots. Handheld, with the Vibration Reduction and 35+ years of pistol shooting helping me hold it steady (click to enlarge).

Put the phone against the binos, and snagged a picture of the son - 100 yards away - thru it. Worked better than I thought it would.[IMG]

If you click on the images, you can see he is literally 'wired'. He was chasing tail in my backyard earlier today.

Wow, great photography, but did he ever break free? I would not want to get near those horns and hooves. Tell us the rest of the story.

I would be interesting to see how he got that wrapped around like that. I don't think the wire will come off until he sheds the antlers.

Thanks. I went out to feed the birds and deer in the morning like I do every day, and there he was chasing the does. I didn't notice the wire until I looked at the images on the computer so I have no idea where he got wired-up.
