What mods does your LS1 have besides a roll cage?
Ported heads, big cam (231º/237º .598"/.595" 112 LSA +2º), Forged JE pistons, Caddy LS7 lifters etc. A Fidanza aluminum flywheel and Spec aluminum pressure plate and Stage 2c disk spin the stock T56 that was rebuilt with steel shift forks from a Viper, and an ACPT carbon fiber driveshaft. 420hp/400tq at the wheels. A big radiator from LG Motorsports keeps it cool, along with Setrab engine oil cooler w/ fan, and Northern power steering cooler with fan. The rear diff uses a finned aluminum cover with internal passages to help stay cool, and a new diff breather with tank is in the design phases.
Rear is the stock 10-bolt, has a Torsen T2R diff, and the stock 3.42 gears have been replaced with GM 3.23 gears to drop RPM at speed a little.
Suspension is LG Motorsports G2 springs, torque arm, aluminum LCA's, and steel PHB. Koni SA shocks, Strano 35mm front and 22mm rear hollow sway bars round it out. Brembo four piston brakes scavenged from a Porsche 996TT are installed up front with the stock brakes out back.
Of course there are a million little things not listed. It is a fun car that is autocrossed, road course (HPDE), minimal drag racing, Texas Mile, and ORR.
What did you do to get the Caddy lifters to work?
I've spent some time on ls1tech and nobody seems to be able to get them to work.
I don't keep up with the boards much anymore. What problems are people having? We soaked them in oil, and installed them when the motor was put together. It has only been to 6500 a couple times so far, but has been to 6k many times and spent 25 minutes over 4k.
They've been failing and taking out parts with them.
One person mentioned you had to install them with some hole in them
facing the front of the motor. I haven't seen one myself so I'm not sure.
