I saw a financial show saying perma-lancers were the way of the future. Basically going to work for a company and just getting paid.
No vacation, sick leave, insurance, etc. They say that the companys have taken a right turn in this direction and this will not turn around. So if you have a job with all the goodies, you had better hang on to it.

    What do you think?

Everything is cyclical. Some day, people will be getting long-term jobs at companies who will pay just below median and provide lifetime benefits such as pension and health insurance.

Sounds good to me. I'd rather get the higher wage / income than get vacation and sick time. I don't use either one of them anyway. Insurance? With less of it, there will be less need of it. I'd just as soon purchase my own.

I quit a job like that to take a perma-lance position. I perma-lance with several companies now instead of turning in my 9-5 every day. I'm more productive, make more money and have a more favorable position on April 15.
