What kind of performance hit could I expect with a compensated
Glock compaired to the standard model? I havn't seen any info on this, but I might be out of the loop.

The only "performance" difference you'll notice are dirty front sights and somewhat less muzzle flip.

3-5% velocity loss on average. Very flat shooting ut with a bit more push.

I have one in 40 cal., Glock 22. Dont like it. Will trade for a good standard barrel. Low round count through mine.

So you could expect a loss of maybe 50-100 FPS as a
    result of the compensating ports?

This does not seem not bad considering the potential gain
    in control and feel.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this tradeoff?

The velocity loss, noise and exaust gas are worth trading for a very flat shooting pistol. All my carry guns at C models these days.

I have owned two of the G23Cs over the years. I liked them and carried them.

My 22C shot fine, reducing muzzle rise slightly. I imagine it would be much less of an advantage in 9mm but more noticable in .357 sig. I would NOT carry one as a defensive weapon due to the muzzle blast via the ports. Shots fired from a guard position might remove your eyebrows (exageration). In all I don't think its worth the hassle.
