The 'horn in the driveway' thread got me thinking about car alarms, too...

Don't know about anyone else, but I set mine to only flash lights whenever I hit the button, trying to sneak in late at night really sucks when the car alarm gives you away...:whistling:

I've been trying to turn off the chirp on my '06 Avalon since my father gave it to me in early '07 (he decided to move to assisted living.)

The directions won't work, two dealers on two cities couldn't do it, a regional employee gave up and calling the national office didn't help.

    chirp-chirp

Seems to be something to do with the VIP system they added on to the basic security. I'd cut the wire to the chirper if I could reach it.

I don't mind the chirp. I can lock my car from inside my apartment and hear it if I am by the window.
