But again, bandana, neck gaiter or shemaugh, always wear a hat outdoors... and try to not elect D leadership especially in the AG/DA positions. Those people not prosecuting criminals but rather those defending against same... are beginning to really concern me.

I went to the range 2 days ago and wore my gas mask for almost 3 hours of shooting in thick heavy smoke here in CA. I was perfectly comfortable as some shooters around me were coughing in 190 AQI air. Smoke is no joke and can do some physiological damage fairly quickly. Gas masks...they are becoming the hot new commodity and are starting to sell out everywhere. Get yours while you can. The Israeli surplus ones are good to go if you can still find them.

My wife and I have both had Covid-19. We've known people who have suffered greatly, as well as a few deaths. The function of the mask is more to protect others, than to protect the wearer. If I've protected your life or that of one of your loved ones by wearing one...you're welcome.

You give the powers that be way too much credit. We have a pandemic going on. The people in charge at all levels are fumbling around, trying to contain it with half measures that are ineffective and this country was completely unprepared for this type of event due to lack of foresight and imagination. The messaging from political leaders is muddled, contradicting, shifting and the public is understandably confused and either overreacting or under reacting. I wouldn’t buy into the idea that there is an overarching and diabolical plan here. It’s just sheer incompetence.

Pfft, how many stupid rants or threads do we have here on a daily basis? Don5 like it, don't reply. It is a freaking observation. I find it odd myself and wife always comments on mask wearers in their car or alone on a walk. It is pretty funny actually.

As for asymptomatic carriers, the CDC themselves said they don't spread it anywhere near what they first thought. Again, we quarantine the sick, not the healthy but we have had this discussion ad nauseam.

If you observed people being loaded onto trains going to "work camps", would that have "zero impact" on you, because it doesn't affect you?

You are right and I agree it is surely pointless when alone to wear it. I think those are people that don’t quite get it and think they wear it for their own protection. In public I am for them as it’s just my personal opinion but I think they do help and quite a bit.

I recently returned from a trip to MT where masks are mandatory. I noticed that people tend to comply in the big cities but in country stores the order is almost ignored. The biggest surprise to me was how young people, the least likely to have health issues, comply with the mandate while older people over 50 simply ignore it. Since young’uns tend to be liberal this tells me the whole mask thing is about politics not safety. Either that or older people are really stupid.

Why should I, who am not sick, have to wear a mask to protect you from your irrational phobia of getting sick?

If you are that fearful, wear an N95, or full gas mask to protect yourself. Why should your germ phobias be projected unto everyone else?
