My penmanship suffers because I have a tough time keeping an ample supply of left-handed pens in the house.

I'll know when I get there.
My father was in the navy and had the best penmanship either print or longhand. I on the other-hand write figures all day and fast. it does not need to get "cold" or I can't read it.

Awful. You should see what's in schools (even colleges and universities) these days. No one writes in cursive either. College students print everything.

Me and thee. If I write in cursive it doesn't have to get cold to prevent me from reading it!

Can't remember the last time I wrote anything longer than signing my name. Everything is type & print in my world....

I don't either. I'm included in the "no one."

It's a shame though...I occasionally see beautiful and legible penmanship and it nearly amazes me like a fine work of art.

I hate girls for this reason. They always seem to write well.

I never learned to write cursive... did I miss out? I can read it, but never had to write it.

I've had to write grade slips out for pilots so they can be read and in too small a space for the information so I got good at writing small, legibly.

When my wife and I were applying for our marriage license, the lady looked at my sig on my DL, handed me a pad and pen and told me to practice signing my name till she could read it.

My penmanship went to hell because at work I was the only one that had to read what I wrote. But it never was too good any way.

mine has always been awful. When I was at university and had to take notes fast I would use both cursive, and printing, and upper&lower case, whatever it took. I would ake very good notes re content, but reading it .... it kept people from bumming my notes, one or two friends over the years got used to it , but it is pretty bad. Best I ever saw was a guy I worked with who was Marine, and he had been the company clerk. Like the guy above, he could write in really small boxes.

Yeah, mine is pretty bad. One time I was signing a reciept at the atv dealership and after I signed my name the young guy behind the counter said, "ok, now write it legibly."

I wrote my name in print, underlined it, and put a period behind it for him.

I would write letters to family and friends if I thought they would be able to read them. Typed letters seem impersonable so I don't do that either. Come to think of it I don't talk a lot. My communication skills in general suck.
