on one episode they did a competition for highest profit. It was like 20-35% profit average. That seems to be reasonable considering how much over head these guy probably have.

Being in the military I noticed they were always strategically placed right outside the main gate. They prey on military folks down on their luck. Them and the payday loan sharks.

That is what pawn brokers do, buy low, sell high, that is how they make money. I took a Model 10 and a Model 64 into a pawn shop once to see what I could get, he told me 150 bucks. I thought he meant for each, but he quickly straigtened me out and told me it was 150 bucks for BOTH S&W revolvers, 75 a piece. I left rather abruptly.

On a side note about the show, The PD I worked for in Oklahoma, we had a guy who worked there ( he is the patrol lieutenant now) that looks just like the bald guy, they could be brothers.

How bout that Chumley! Is he not the perfect comic relief/illiterate side kick akin to Gilligan there ever was? Big Hoss is Skipper by the way...I'm waiting to see some "Three Stooges" hits, slaps, and eye pokes between these two.

many people get the items for free that they want to sell ....so they feel if it's worth $1000 and are offered $600 they're making out anyway without having to deal with selling the item, they get their cash right now. It is a great show for info and entertainment.

I get a kick out of the people who go in there and say how sentimental the item is to them and that it was handed down through generations to them. Then they hock it for some ridiculous price.

Boy, was he pissed and really annoyed at Chumlee! He comes in second to the guy who paid $800 for the fake pistol.
