    With the budget crunch in Arizona and elsewhere, a local city council is considering the promotion of advertising space on marked police patrol units to offset funding losses.

    A local criminal defense attorney has reportedly already made them an offer for the exterior of the unit and space on the "customer" side of the barrier shield.

    Is any other .gov agency doing this?

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    If my department's jurisdiction was mainly highways, I would certainly solicit bids from tow trucks drivers, and accident/DWI lawyers. Maybe even a liquor ad or something.

    Or how about where medicinal maryjanes are lawful, from one of them providers?

    All traffic units could have personal injury lawyer ads.

    "Injured in an accident?....Call.......

    :rofl:

    YOu laugh, but that is EXACTLY what they do/did in not so Great Britain. When I went back to see the old constabulary I was gobsmacked to see adverts on the panda cars (marked patrol cars).

    You do what you have to do to get by I guess.

    Let's be more subtle. Bail bond companies and DWI attorneys could advertise on the back side of the cage and inside door panels of the back doors. Maybe ads could be on the rear floor mats so the unruly could read them after they have been stuffed face down in the back floor board.

    Just like NASCAR! But I don't see it flying, at least here. We can make no kind of recomendation as to bailbonds or attorneys. & I see having a sticker on the side of the car falling into that catagory.

    Yep, there's a law against it here for us to recommend lawyers or bail bondsmen to those in our custody. However, I don't see advertising alcohol and cigarettes to be a problem though.

    "Hey, if you're going to be in jail for a while, how about a nice pack of Pall Malls? Available at your jail commissary and also makes a great gift for your bunkmate."

    Nursetim. I see your avitar is for the Welsh police. Just had a visiting officer from Dyfed-Powys. (On closer inspection, the helmet badge may or may not be Welsh).
