I've seen all these post about everyone and their TRP's and how much they love them. I passed on a used non-Armory Kote one with everything from the factory for $1100 at a gun show today. He also had a leather holster and leather mag pouch. Night sights were dated 10(rear) 09(front). Gun looked good. No scratches. I talked him down from $1250 to $1100 but couldn't get him to the 1K-1050 mark where I wanted so I passed and bought a Kahr CM9 from another dealer.

Anyways, second guessing my self. $1100 isn't a great deal but it's not a bad deal either.

    What do y'all think?

    Used.

If it was new it'd be at my house right now.

That's not bad. By non-armory note, do you mean it was a stainless model?

Yes. It was my understanding that they all are stainless. Then some get the Armory Kote finish added. Looking at their web site I think I was wrong?

I prefer the SS TRP over the AK TRP.

I'm pretty sure the AK ones are carbon steel. Mine is stainless and I like it a lot.

Look to be LNIB. I didn't get to take it apart or even rack the slide. Just held/looked over. Barrel hood didn't appear to have any wear. Guessing it hasn't been shot much.

The AK TRPs are not stainless. They're carbon steel.

I guess I had them confused with the DW Valor or am I wrong about those as well? Aren't they all stainless and them some get the black finish?

The DW's are stainless, but some are given the black treatment. That's some good stuff. I'm not a big of AK. It looks good, but it isn't very tough.

I went back to the gun show to look at it again. It had and idoit scratch and some scratches under the dust cover. I'm guessing it had around 300 rnds fired. It had a pretty good trigger. He wouldn't come down off of $1100 so I passed. There will always be another one.

You passed on the gun you wanted in what I gather was a FTF deal over fifty bucks?

Edit: i would have passed over the idiot scratch.

More like $100 but yes. If he would have come down to $1050 I'd probably have bought it. I wanted it but I set a limit and stuck to it.

It helps that I have a Gun Crafter No Name being built right now. Knowing that I could have that as early as next week helped! That and I have to write a check for twice what I would have paid for the TRP. Add the $400 I spent earlier yesterday for the CM9 I bought, that's a lot of $. You still think I've got more will power?
