That's cool, but kinda spendy. Unless you plan on flying away like Mary Poppins hopefully you have some basic H2H skills if not specific stick training like Arnis (Kali or escrima).
I have trained in boxing, but I am also 60, about as flexible as a steel I-Beam and I know what happens to your hands when you punch someone bare knuckled.

The cost is trivial to me. I spent 20+ years learning how to hit people with sticks in the SCA so this is a very natural thing to me. It is also much less likely to break bones in my hand.

This is actually a protest against environmental government policies. The government thought they could reduce carbon emissions by putting large taxes on gas and diesel...a move which largely doesn’t affect the metro-riding city dwellers. But for all those people out in the countryside who rely on their cars and trucks, this was unacceptable. This is why the protesters are wearing those yellow safety vests; they’re required to be carried in every vehicle.
These folks are, essentially, the flyover Americans of France.
So basically, the mainstream French want out of the Paris Accord?

Yeah, a funny part of this all. Meanwhile, keep that gas near $2 a gal..
Looks like the FRENCH might leave the Paris accord LOL

The problem is (or maybe isn't) the populace sees this as a win and now when they don't like a policy go apesh*t about it.

Guess so -- with Macron's popularity being flushed to 23% http://news.trust.org/item/20181204072236-qgsyz

Compare that to Trumps at 48% lol http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/trump_administration/prez_track_dec04

While the relative sizes of the US and France are significantly different as of course are the internal traveling differences; can you imagine $6 or $7 a gallon gasoline here?

The average price of Regular gas in Canada is $3.89 (normalized in US Dollars per US Gallon).

Since everyone buys their input crude at the global price the difference in consumer pricing can only be transportation and taxes.

If we recognize that our US consumer pricing already contains varying rates of tax the amount of taxes included by other nations is nuts.

It’s all a tax scam. We’re just putting taxes up to safeguard the environment, the fact we will take in billions in incremental taxes is just a coincidental benefit.
What a load of BS.

Our prices are anywhere from $2.90/gal at Costco (I'm not a member), to $3.70/gal at Shell for Regular.

That's ridiculous. I thought Trump gave a BJ to the House of Saud recently?

GF and I are visiting France in September (flying in and out of Paris). These riots reminded me that I will be essentially unarmed during our visit (forget about guns, French knife laws are about what you would expect, restrictive). This news did convince me to buy an "Unbreakable Umbrella" tonight. There is a straight handled walking stick version on the way. It will probably rain on us too so we will be as ready as we can for bad weather of all kinds.

I'm surprised no one has made a "self defense umbrella" with a carbon fiber stabbing blade hidden in the handle. Rather like a cane sword but it would probably be stabbing-only.

How can Macron still be as high as 23%?

Also, if they would exclude towns/cities that have colleges, Trump would probably be at 75%

There are times I feel like were back in 1773 with the British. All this taxation. Our representatives are a bunch of self serving jokesters who also seem to have a lot of money all the time. The 2nd amendment is under attack and so is the 1st. Under Obama so many Federal Judgeships are now totally Politicized.

IL. has sent 50% of its last 8 Governors to prison and now we elect a guy worth 3.5 B, who spent 200 M of his own money in his campaign, for a job that pays $170,000 a year. The same guy who scammed a few hundred thousand of dollars from his real estate tax by yanking a few toilets out of his mansion in order to say a large part of it was unlivable.

But its all on the up and up right?
